If you’re considering tinting your car windows in Victoria, Australia, it’s essential to understand the state’s window tinting laws to ensure your vehicle remains compliant.
At Virla Wraps, we aim to educate car owners about these regulations to help you make informed decisions about your car’s windows tinting shade.
Victoria tint laws allow no tint on front windshield. Front side windows may have 35% VLT tint. All windows behind driver may have 20% VLT.
Window tint laws in Victoria are very specific and easy to understand. Front windshield tint is allowed only on top 10% of the window, or alternatively above the highest point swept by windshield wipers. This does not prohibit installing clear and transparent frost glazing or UV shields. Front side windows are those in front of, or immediately to left or right of the driver seat. These can have 35% VLT. All windows behind driver seat – including back side windows and rear windshield – may have 20% VLT tint.
